Photos 15th March 2009
I joined Michael Freeman's walk around the area just north of Welwyn Garden City. 17 of us plus a dog started at
Welwyn North station, and took a panoramic hilly mix of crop fields and woods which took us to our lunch stop, The
White Horse at Burnham Green. Unfortunately we lost one JWalker who fell ill and had to vanish. Frotunately, despite
him being a driver, we managed to shoehorn his passengers into the remaining cars. After a nice lunch in a lovely
beer garden we took a longer more roundabout route through woods, horse fields and more crop fields to a church just
South of Tewin before returning back to the start point.
To those who I mentioned my gliding, butterfly and other pictures to, if you wish to see them then my main
piccies website is at http://piccies.flybywire.org.uk/.
Gliding -> Aboyne 2007 is perhaps my favourite page.

The vista that greeted us when we exited Lockleys Wood near the top of a hill. The panorama is to the left
of the view of the railway and centres on Foxley Grove.

An Orange Underwing moth and a Comma butterfly enjoying the spring sunshine. The former apparently is not
very common so that was a scoop.
