I woke up 6:45AM and again rested until Renée awoke at 8AM. We then proceeded to pack, after which we had one last nice breakfast at 8:35AM. We left the room at 9:20AM after grabbing some last things and promptly checked out and set off.

Views as we leave Llangenith and drive out of the Gower Peninsular. |
After driving out of the Gower Peninsula to the M4, we headed Northwards to Lower and Upper Brynamman. As we left Upper Brynamman the road abruptly changed from suburban to moorland as we climbed up onto the Brecon Beacons. The drive was immediately breathtakingly gorgeous in the nice weather. We were so glad we stayed an extra day as this would have been no fun in the pouring rain yesterday. Soon enough after winding up over the moors we turned right onto a lovely single track road before emerging onto the road to Trecastle. Here we picked up the A40 (the same road that goes through Hangar Lane Gyrotary but a very different feel hundreds of miles to the West!) to Sennybridge and on to Brecon.

Driving Southeastwards through Brecon town centre along the High Street and Bulwark. | St. Mary's Church. | Exiting Southeastwards back to the A40. |
We went all the way into Brecon town centre to see what was there. Then we resumed our Eastbound drive on the A40, which took us through the countryside all the way to the Severn Bridge. We emerged onto the M48, the Northern Severn Bridge. (We had entered Wales via the Southern M4 bridge so that was both bridges traversed.

Once into England we stopped at Severn View services at 12:40PM for a lunch and comfort break at Burger King. From there we decided to just follow the M4 home as we were tired and not too bothered about the Cotswolds. From 1:10PM until 3:15PM we had a straight forward non stop drive back home to Hendon. And there ended the trip.
