Somewhere South of Craignure, Jack released two freshly emerged Female Orangetips that he had bred through from Caterpillars. (They occur naturally here so no problem. They are also normally out later than the Southern counterparts.) After feeding up on nectar the ladies soon took their maiden flights and were free. | Cinnabar moth at the release site. | Brown Silver-line moth at Ardery, Ardnamurchan. |

My first butterflies of 2014, as warm weather brings out the hibernators. My first FZ200 butterflies too. Nice to see that this new camera takes good butterfly pictures too. It's zoom and speed of operation makes taking pictures of twitchy butterflies easier too. A good start.
